Smith & Wesson Pre War .38 Terrier

$2,450

Among the rarest Smith & Wesson I-frame variations from the pre war period, any Terrier is a prize, and most all known examples are blued. This is one of less than ten presently known original nickel examples in existence and is confirmed as having shipped on May 12, 1939 to the  Lou Eppinger Co. of Detroit, Michigan. The gun is all numbers matching, including the original checkered black rubber grips and will have a special place in any collection of rare Smith & Wesson’s! Finding another example in any condition will prove to be a life-long search.

The gun retains over 98% of the original nickel finish with some scattered aging on the frame, along with some minor frosting on the left side below the latch.  The cylinder chambers are mint, the bore is nearly mint and the gun functions perfectly.
