Smith & Wesson Pre War .38/44 Heavy Duty Nickel Factory Letter

$4,650

A factory letter accompanies this extremely rare revolver confirming the configuration and detailing its original shipment on November 9, 1934 to the Meunier Gun Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as part of a single unit order. Most all Heavy Duty’s built were blued guns and nickel examples are most difficult to find, especially in high condition. This rare example comes with the correct box which is equally crisp and fine condition. The gun has the original numbers matching silver-medallion service grips that are every bit as mint as the gun itself.

The gun retains 99% of the original nickel finish which is bright and clear with only the faintest touch of collector-type handling evidence and aging present. The bore and cylinder chambers are mint. Overall this is a supremely fine and boxed example that will be extremely difficult to ever upgrade or improve upon in any way.
