Smith & Wesson .38 Single Action 1st Model Baby Russian

$3,250

Built in November of 1876 this positively fantastic .38 Single Action 1st Model, AKA Baby Russian is factory inscribed “M. L. Higgins 1876” who worked as a sheriff in Bismarck, North Dakota. The gun is complete in the original green picture box with the tissue paper and cleaning rod. The original picture box is in outstanding condition, note how clean the label is! Finding a high condition Baby Russian is a very tall order, doubly so with a box.

The gun retains virtually 99% of the original nickel finish which is very bright and clear! There is just a very small amount of aging on a couple cylinder flutes which is hardly noticeable in hand. The original numbers matching checkered black rubber grips are every bit as mint as the gun itself. The gun is perfect mechanically, the cylinder chambers are mint and the bore is excellent with just a tiny bit of aging at the breech. Overall a truly outstanding .38 Single Action that will take a lifetime to upgrade in any possible way!
