Smith & Wesson .32 Safety Hammerless 3rd Model Bicycle Gun
The S&W factory historian has confirmed that this rare and sought after .32 Safety Hammerless 3rd Model shipped on August 24, 1939 to the Sutcliffe Hardware Company in Louisville, Kentucky and is equipped with the rare original 2” barrel, original bright blue finish and factory mother of pearl grips. Knowledgeable collectors are aware that production for this model ended in 1937 at serial number 242981, this incredible example is less than two hundred numbers away! The gun comes in the maroon display box with the tissue wrap and while the label shows some tattering the box is otherwise pristine.
A truly special ‘Bicycle Gun’ that retains virtually 99% of the original bright blue finish which shows only the faintest of collector type handling evidence and aging. The bore and cylinder chambers are mint and the mechanical working order is flawless.
