The factory Smith & Wesson Historian has confirmed the configuration of this outstanding .357 Magnum, including the 5 1/2” barrel, and detailed its original shipment on February 9, 1940 to Powell & Clement in Cincinnati, Ohio. A factory letter has been ordered and will be provided to the purchaser. The gun is equipped with a 5 1/2” barrel, original bright blue finish, Humpback Hammer, Baughman ramp front sight on a King sight base and checkered walnut silver medallion service grips with grip adapter. This is the only known Non Registered Magnum equipped with a 5 1/2” barrel! This .357 Magnum comes in an incredibly crisp blue picture box and is complete with the cleaning bottle brush, tissue wrap, trilingual caution flyer and workmanship guarantee placard. The gun remains in wonderful condition retaining 99%+ of the original bright blue finish with some very minor scattered aging and light handling marks mostly on the right side of the barrel. The service grips are every bit as crisp and mint as the gun itself. The bore and cylinder chambers are flawless and the mechanical working order is perfect.
