The factory Smith & Wesson Historian has confirmed this exceptional factory engraved .357 Magnum shipped on June 22, 1953 to the Rex Firearms Company in New York, New York as one of a special ordered matched pair that was picked up in person by Mr. White. The included factory invoice confirms that this gorgeous .357 Magnum is equipped with an 8 3/8” barrel, original nickel finish, red ramp front sight, smooth rosewood presentation magna grips and Class A factory engraving by Harry Jarvis. The total charges for the two guns was $134.44 with a $14 charge for the rosewood stocks and a $200 charge for the engraving! Note the substantial up-charge is to cover the incredibly rare panel scene featured on the side plate of a foraging bear surrounded by Jarvis’ classic flowing floral scrollwork!!

The gun is complete in the equally crisp and mint blue box with the NOX-Rust vapor paper, Helpful Hints brochure and the unused cleaning tools including the knurled blued steel sight adjustment screwdriver. The condition is nothing short of fantastic and the gun shows no signs of wear whatsoever. This positively AS-NEW factory engraved .357 Magnum is one of the small handful that features a panel scene and rosewood magna grips. Coupled with the extremely rare configuration and high condition this investment grade Pre Model 27 will be a valuable addition to any collection!!
